The story behind Rising Hope

In 2012, Stine Andersen volunteered at a number of centers for people with drug addiction in Zanzibar, Tanzania. Here, she learned how there were good treatment options and aftercare for men, while the options for women were incomparable. This experience was the start of Rising Hope. Since then, Rising Hope has worked closely with a group of Tanzanian women to strengthen the conditions for female drug users in Tanzania. Before, during and after treatment.

"There is minimal distance between donors, the board and the people we support and work with. This creates density and cohesion, which also helps to ensure the sustainability of projects."
